<![CDATA[Hi John, I do not believe that the tree of life was a literal physical reality on earth. I believe the Eden spoken of in Genesis 2-3 is the Eden of heaven mentioned in Ezekiel 27-28. Because there is an Eden in heaven, the fall becomes a literal fall from heaven. The changes in his physical body experienced by Adam after the fall was a change from the heavenly body he had in Eden to a corruptible earthly body after having been cast from heaven to earth. The resurrection at the end of the age is a mirror opposite of the fall. Here instead of a change from heavenly to earthly bodies, there is a change in earthly bodies to heavenly bodies at the resurrection at and after the end of the age. For a detailed explanation of how the end is a mirror opposite of the beginning and the implications this has for the age of teh earth see How the Jewish War and Resurrection to Heaven Mirror Genesis and the Fall; and How Preterism fixes the Age of the Earth Problem and unravels the Mysteries in Genesis. Now regarding teh fact that the earth is getting worse not better is simply untrue. Humanity goes through vacillations from generation to generation; however, if anything, humanity is gradually getting more and more ethical because life is getting easier and easier with technological advances which aid to meet human needs. To get an idea at how far humanity has gotten read the historical books in the Old Testament. Humanity has come a long way since then. The illusion that things are getting worse, not better, is because there are huge increases in global communication notifying us when something happens across the globe giving the impression that the world is going to hell. This is an illusion because there are exponentially more people in the world right now then there were one hundred years ago. Thus there are many more people around to sin then in previous generations. ]]>
