Did John the disciple die? John 21:22-23 Commentary: Summary and Highlights
In the following commentary on John 21:22-23, Jesus says, “If I want him [the Apostle John] to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?” According to church tradition, John the apostle died sometime during Trajan’s reign, at the end of the first century or early second century A.D.1 Did John the disciple die before Christ returned? Is Jesus talking about the second coming or something else? In A.D. 66 two first century Roman historians recorded a miraculous event that appears to be Jesus Christ in the presence of a multitude of angels in the sky. This miracle appears to be the return that Jesus promised that John would see. Jesus also made other appearances throughout the course of the Jewish War and shortly thereafter the totality of which LITERALLY fulfill every detail of every prophecy concerning the second coming. 22 Jesus answered, “If I want him [the Apostle John] to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.” 23 Because of this, the rumor spread among the believers that this disciple would not die. But Jesus did not say that he would not die; he only said, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?”
Did the Apostle John Die? John 21:22-23 Commentary: Jesus made several Miraculous Appearances in the First Century. These Various Appearances of Christ during and shortly after the Jewish War are a Climatic Exemplification and Fulfillment of All the Ways in which God appeared to People in the Bible. During the Jewish War and the death of the lawless one, Jesus appears to have made several miraculous appearances. John 21:22-23 Commentary: “If I want Him to remain alive until I return, what is that to You?”–Did John the Disciple Die?: Conclusion
In the above commentary on John 21:22-23, Jesus says, “If I want him [the Apostle John] to remain alive until I return, what is that to you?” Having died sometime at the end of the first century, John the apostle did see Christ return before his death.

Here Jesus says to the woman, that the time of the true worship of the father comes and is NOW. And that the true worship of God will not be in Jerusalem (in the temple). The only way to fullfill this is the destruction of the temple…?!
(Look at John 2,19-22 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture…”
Jesus tells them that they have ruined and destroyed the temple and the new temple, the new belief, is the ressurection… But the temple in Jerusalem was still intact…
